Akira has been a leading figure in the Japanese music scene for more than 15 years. He is best known for his work with the band Casiopea, where he became recognized for his unique playing style and intricate techniques. His stick has a tear drop tip with a tapered butt for better cymbal definition.

In this all-new series of video cyber lessons, renowned drummer and percussionist Ndugu Chancler discusses a wide variety of topics. Ndugu's first lesson, included in Vic Firth's MEDIA VAULT touches on the subject of sound and time development on the drumset.
Ndugu Chancler is known as a world-class producer, composer, clinician and teacher. A three-time Grammy nominee, he has to his credit an extensive list of performances, recordings, original compositions and productions. As a studio musician, he has performed and recorded with Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, George Duke, The Crusaders, Frank Sinatra, Weather Report, Lionel Richie, Kenny Rogers, and Thelonious Monk.

Regular visitors to the Vic Firth website have had resounding praises for Dom Famularo's extensive series of cyber lessons, but they obviously want more! Well, we've finally managed to tie Dom to his drum throne long enough to give us seven new lessons!
In the 13th lesson of this popular series, Dom gives some insight into what the future of the cyber lessons holds - plus, he plays some great stuff on his drumset to get our mouths watering!

* Groove Essential #10: Half-time Rock Grooves
Half-time grooves are great for creating a "slower feel" within a tune while maintaining a consistent tempo. In this Groove Essential feature, Tommy explains how moving back and forth between a standard "2 and 4" groove and a half-time groove can add interesting rhythmic variety in your playing style.
