New 9500 Hi-Hat From DW Features Double Eccentric Cam Design
1/03 Drum Workshop’s new 9500 Hi-Hat incorporates several patented and advanced features, including the world’s first Double Eccentric Cam drive system and cymbal seat with lateral angle adjustment. Based on DW’s performance-proven, heavy-duty 5000 Series hi-hats, the 9500 also includes dual-rotating legs, foldable footboard with lightweight aluminum pedal plate, tension-adjustable internal compression spring, TechLock clutch and interlocking memory locks. While Drum Workshop hi-hats have built a reputation for smoothness and reliability over the years, DW’s newly developed Double Eccentric Cam design represents a major improvement in hi-hat technology. The patented dual offset chain and sprocket design provides a floating drive mechanism that allows greater speed and control with noticeably less effort. "The 9500’s dual cam drive system has been designed to facilitate the intricate hi-hat patterns and techniques used by today’s advanced multiple pedal players while also providing solid performance in everything from acoustic jazz to high-volume, high-intensity playing situations," comments DW president and hardware designer, Don Lombardi. In addition, the new cymbal seat features a unique lateral, locking nut for easier bottom cymbal angle adjustment. The 9500 Hi-Hat can be easily integrated into a variety of pedal set-ups and has a suggested retail price of $329.00, including a nylon carrying bag.
