Jim Payne's New Manhattan Drum School1/02 Jim is opening his new Manhattan Drum School starting in February 2002. It's a large, clean space which he is very excited about. Jim's extensive experience in the music business as producer of the first two Medeski, Martin & Wood records, and as producer and drummer with Maceo Parker, Pee Wee Ellis and Fred Wesley as the J B Horns, to list a few of his projects, adds to his qualifications as a drum instructor. He has been an adjunct faculty member at SUNY Purchase and was on the faculty of the Drummers Collective, NYC for 10 years. He has also conducted seminars for the annual Percussive Arts Society convention and has taught US and international students in his home studio in Westchester for the past 8 years.
