Paolo Mattioli is a world renowned multi-percussionist, educator and instrument designer, with a special ability to inspire and empower others via the drum. Paulo is passionate about his work, radiating joy, willingness and patience, while sharing the Spirit of Rhythm and Community. He tours nationwide facilitating corporate, college and community drum circles. He offers Master classes and Clinics for Music stores and schools worldwide.
Paulo has performed with many major artists such as Kenny Loggins, Sting and Babatunde Olatunji. He has studied and/or recorded with the worlds top African Drummers from "Les Ballets Africains" including Mamady Keita, Kemoko Sano and Yamousa Camara. He graduated with honors and holds a degree in music, communications and visual arts from the University of San Diego.
He is a Signature artist for Remo World Percussion, designer of the Remo Djembe drum and authored the number one rated instructional video series, "Hands on Drumming". Paulo is now the musical director of "Mystique D'Afrique" a West African drum and dance ensemble, currently featured internationally on the Fox television series, The Method Show.
His life is dedicated to promoting community, creativity and raising global consciousness through rhythm. He surfs and is a certified massage therapist, specializing in Sensate Shiatsu, a rhythmic massage combined with sound healing. Paulo offers manyholistic services like Drum Meditations, Sonic Attunements, Watsu and Waterdance.
